Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the mentors build
healthy, supportive relationships with the mentees and actively participate in
program activities. The specific responsibilities of the
mentors include:
-- Attending regularly
scheduled program meetings throughout the academic year;

Implementing
activities that assist
the mentees in reaching programmatic
goals that are based on
the mission of the organization;
-- Assisting
the mentees in developing life skills such as problem solving,
planning for the
future, decision-making, values clarification, and goal
setting;
-- Providing
regular feedback to the Executive Director regarding program
activities and
interactions with the mentees.
Qualifications:
-- Commitment to the mission and vision of the organization;
-- Ability
to inspire and engage children;
-- Excellent
oral and written communication and critical thinking skills;
-- Ability
to work independently and as part of a team;
-- Proficiency
in basic Internet skills and in Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint;
-- Some college experience preferred.
